GIVEN:-

  • The numerator is less than 2 than the denominator.
  • If 3 is added to both numerator and denominator it becomes 3/4

SOLUTION:-

Let the denominator be x and numerator be x-2

ATQ,

(x-2)+3/x+3 = 3/4

x+1/x+3 = 3/4

By cross multiplication we get,

3(x+3) = 4(x+1)

3x+9 = 4x+4

9 - 4 = 4x - 3x

5 = x

Thus the original fraction was

5-2/5

= 3/5
