Hii !!

Let Denominator of rational number be X.

Numerator = ( X - 2 ).

Rational number = Numerator/Denominator = X - 2 / X.

According to question,

X - 2 - 2 / X + 2 = 1/3

X - 4 / X + 2 = 1/3

X + 2 = 3 ( X - 4 )

x+ 2 = 3X - 12

3X - X = 2 + 12

2X = 14

X = 7

Denominator = X = 7

And,

Numerator = X - 2 = 5.

Therefore,

Required Rational number = 5/7.
