let \: the \: number \: be \: \: x \\  \frac{x + 2}{x + 5}  =  \frac{4}{5}  \\ 4(x + 5) = 5(x + 2) \\ 4x + 20 = 5x + 10 \\ 20 - 10 = 5x - 4x \\ 10 = x
