Answer:

 \frac{16}{9}

Step-by-step explanation:

let the denominator be x.

as said numerator is 3 less than the denominator,

the fraction is :

 \frac{x - 3}{x}

if numerator is increased by 2 and denominator is increased by 5 then the fraction is \frac{3}{4}. therefore,

 \frac{x  - 3 + 2}{x + 5}   =  \frac{3}{4}  \\  \frac{x - 1}{x + 5}  =  \frac{3}{4}  \\ 4(x - 1) = 3(x + 5) \\ 4x - 4 = 3x + 15 \\ 4x - 3x = 15 + 4 \\ x = 19

therefore the fraction is,

 \frac{x - 3}{x}  =  \frac{19 - 3}{19}  =  \frac{16}{19}
