let the numerator be x and denominator be y then the equation we get is
x=y-3 ........1
the new fraction that we get is
x+1/y+3=1/2
Putting value of x from 1
y-2/y+3=1/2
2y-4=y+3
y=7 and using 1,we have x=4
and the original fraction was
x/y=4/7
