The numerator of a fraction is 3 less than the denomination. if 2 is added to both numerator and denominator then the sun of the new and original fraction is 29/20 find the number

let denominator be x and numerator be y

then the fraction would be = (x-3)/X

according to question;

(x-3)/x. +. (x-1)/(x+2). =. 29/20

{(x-3)(x+2). +. (x-1)x } / (x+2).x. =. 29/20

20 { x^2 - x -6 + x^2 - x }=29(x^2 + 2x)

40x^2 - 40x - 120 = 29x^2 + 58x

11x^2 - 94x -120 = 0

after solving this equation,will get the value of x,thus form the fraction
