Let the fraction be x/y

Condition 1 : x = y-3

Condition 2 : (x-2)/(y+1) = 1/3

x = 5

y = 8

Therefore the fraction is 5/8

Thankyou. Hope this helps

Let the denominator be = x

Numerator = x - 3

Fraction = x-3/x

Now as per given condition:

(x - 3 - 2)/(x + 1) = 1/3

=> 3x - 15 = x + 1

=> 2x = 16

=> x = 8

Fraction = 5/8
