the numerator of a fraction is 3 less than the denominator. if the denominator is increased by 5 and the numerator by 2 .we get the fraction 1/2 .find the fraction​

Let the Numerator be x and denominator be y

•x=y-3

=x-y=-3 ------1 ×2

•x+2 1

=2x+4=y+5

=2x-y=5-4

=2x-y=1 --------2

Adding 1 nd 2

2x-2y=-6

2x-y= 1

y= -7 ➡ denominator

putting value in 1

we get

x-y=-3

x-(-7) =-3

x+7=-3

x=-3-7

x=-10 ➡Numerator

Fraction=x -7 7

y -10 10
