The numerator of a fraction is 3 less than the denominator. If the numerator is increased by 1 and the

let the numerator be x then the denominator is x + 3 and the fraction is x / (x + 3)

so, A/q x + 1 / (x + 3)+3 = 1/2

or, x+1 / x+6 = 1/2

or, 2(x+1) = x+6

or, 2x + 2 = x + 6

or, 2x - x = 6 - 2

or, x = 4

so, numerator is 4 then denominator = 7

Therefore, the fraction is 4/7
