Solution :-

⟾ Let the Denominator be x

⟾ Then the Numerator will be x - 4

After adding 1 to both :

⟾ Denominator = x + 1

⟾ Numerator = x - 4 + 1 = x - 3

According to the Question :

➞ x - 3 / x + 1 = 1/2

➞ 2 (x - 3) = 1 (x + 1)

➞ 2x - 6 = x + 1

➞ 2x - x = 6 + 1

x = 7

________________

Therefore :

  • Numerator = x - 4 = 7 - 4 = 3
  • Denominator = x = 7
  • Fraction = 3/7
