the numerator of a fraction is 4 less than its denominator. if the numerator is decreased by 1,
the fraction become 2/3 find the fraction.

Let x be the denominator, then
x - 4  - 1 \div x = 2  \div 3
On solving,
x - 5 = 2x \div 3
3x - 15 = 2x
x = 15
