Let the denominator be x

Numerator = x+5

New Denominator = x - 6 + 2

= x - 4

x + 5 / x - 4 = 1/2

2(x + 5) = x - 4

2x + 10 = x - 4

2x - x = -4 - 10

x = -14

Original denominator = -14

Original numerator = -14 + 5

= -9

Fraction = -14/-9
