Answer:

let the denominator be x

then, numerator = x-6

according to question ,

=> (x-6)+3/x = 2/3

=> (x-6+3)/x = 2/3

=> (x-3)/x = 2/3

=> 3(x-3) = 2x

=> 3x-9 = 2x

=> 3x-2x = 9

=> x = 9. (denominator)

numerator = x-6 => 9-6 = 3

then , fraction = 3/9

Step-by-step explanation:

let the Numerator be x and denominator be y

Given that Numerator is 6 less than denominator

then, x = y - 6

If 3 is added to the Numerator the fraction becomes 2/3

Then x + 3 / y = 2/3

substitute x = y - 6

y - 6 / y = 2/3

cross multiply

3(y - 6 ) = 2y

3y - 18 = 2y

3y + 2y = 18

5y = 18

y = 18/5

x = 6 - y

x = 6 - 18/5

x = 30 - 18 /5

× = 12/5

×/ y = (12/5) / (18/5)

= 12/18 ( 5 and 5 gets divided)

= 2/3
