Let denominator = x
numerator = x - 6
when 3 is added to the numerator then, fraction is equal to 2/3.
(x - 6 + 3) / x = 2/3
(x - 3) / x = 2/3
x - 3 = ( 2/3 )*x
- 3 = (2/3x) - x
-3 = -x / 3
-3 * 3 = -x
-9 = -x
x = 9
Therefore, numerator = (9 - 6) +3
= 6
and, denominator = 9
