Answer:

x/y = 8/14

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the numerator and y be the denominator.

It is given that;

x = y - 6 → eq(i)

Also,

x + y = 22 → eq(ii)

Put x = y-6 in eq (ii)

(y - 6) + y = 22

2y = 22 + 6

2y = 28

y = 28/2

y = 14

Put y = 14 in eq (i)

x = y - 6

x = 14 - 6

x = 8

HEY Buddy....!! here is ur answer

Let, the numerator = x and denominator = y

Then, Given that : the numerator is 6 less than the denominator

So, according to the question : x+6 = y

=> x–y = 6.....(1)

and also given that : the sum of the numerator and denominator is 22

Then, according to the question : x+y = 22....(2)

From equation (1) and (2)

x–y = 6.....(1)

x+y = 22...(2)

On adding the equations...

2x = 28

=> x = 14

On putting the value of 'x' in equation (1)

=> y = 14+6 = 20

Now, Fraction will be => x/y = 14/20 = 7/10

I hope it will be helpful for you....!!

THANK YOU ✌️✌️
