Let the fraction be x/y

then according to question: x=y-6

now, 3 is added to numerator. so, x+3

i.e. y-6+3= y-3 and 1 is subtracted from denominator. so, denominator becomes: y-1

now, according to question: y-3/y-1 = 2/3

solving this equation by cross multiplication we get, y= 7 and x= y-6

so, x= 7-6

x= 1
