Let the numerator be x.
then, the denominator = x+8

a/q          x+3 / x+8 = 4/5
            ⇒ 5(x+3) = 4(x+8)
            ⇒  5x + 15 = 4x + 32
            ⇒  5x- 4x = 32 - 15
            ∴  x =  17

so, the numerator is 17
the denominator = 17+8 = 25

and the original fraction is 17/25 .

Hi Friend,

Here is your answer,

Numerator=x
Denominator=x+y

According to the question,     x+3 / x+8 = 4/5
 5(x+3) = 4(x+8)
 5x + 15 = 4x + 32
 5x- 4x = 32 - 15

x=17

Numerator is  =17
Denominator =  17+8=25

THE ORIGINAL FACTOR IS   17/25

Hope it helps you!
