let the numerator will be x

and denomenator will be x+8

and the fraction is x/x+8

according to question

x+1/x+8-3=1/2

x+1/x+5=1/2

2x+2=x+5

2x-x=5-2

x=3

now putting the value of x in the fraction

x/x+8

3/3+8

3/10

the original fraction is

3/10
