EXPLANATION.

Let the numerator of the fraction = ( x - 1 )

Let the denominator of the fraction = x

If 2 is added to it's numerator and 2 is

subtract from denominator then the

rational number become = 10/7.

=> x - 1 + 2 / x - 2 = 10/7

=> x + 1 / x - 2 = 10/7

=> 7 ( x + 1 ) = 10 ( x - 2 )

=> 7x + 7 = 10x - 20

=> 7 + 20 = 10x - 7x

=> 27 = 3x

=> x = 9

Therefore,

Numerator = ( x - 1 ) = ( 9 - 1 ) = 8

Denominator = x = 9

Fraction = 8/9.
