Let the denominator be x

then numerator will be x - 5.

A/q ;

new numerator = 4 × (x - 5) = ( 4x - 20 )

new denominator = ( x + 4 )

then , ( 4x - 20 ) / ( x + 4 ) = 8 / 5

or, 5 ( 4x - 20 ) = 8 ( x + 4 )

or, 20x - 100 = 8x + 32

or, 20x - 8x = 32 + 100 = 132

or, 12x = 132

so, x = 132/12 = 11

So, denominator = 11 and numerator = 11 - 5 = 6

So, the rational no. is 6 / 11.
