The numerator of fraction is 5 metre than the denominator. If numerator is increased by 1 and denomitor is decreased by 2 then the fraction becomes 13/9 . Find the fraction​

EXPLANATION.

Let the numerator of the fraction be = ( x + 5 )

Let the denominator of the fraction be = x

If numerator is increased by 1 and

denominator is decrease by 2.

Fraction become = 13/9.

=> x + 5 + 1 / x - 2 = 13/9

=> x + 6 / x - 2 = 13/9

=> 9 ( x + 6 ) = 13 ( x - 2 )

=> 9x + 54 = 13x - 26

=> 54 + 26 = 13x - 9x

=> 80 = 4x

=> x = 20

Therefore,

Numerator is = x + 5 = 20 + 5 = 25

Denominator is = x = 20

Fraction become = 25 / 20 = 5/4.
