The numerator of rational number is 3less then the denominator if the denominator is increased by 5 and the numerator by 2 we get the rational number 1/2 find the rational number

Let denominater be x
Numerator=x-3
x-3+2/x+5=1/2
x-1/x+5=1/2
Cross multiplying:-
2x-2=x+5
2x-x=5+2
x=7
Rational number = 4/7
