The object dropped from height(h) strikes the ground with the velocity of 30 m/s. How long does it take to reach the ground? Also find the height ‘h’. (Take g = 10 m/s2)

Given ,

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s
  • Final velocity (v) = 30 m/s
  • Acceleration due to gravity (a) = 10 m/s²

We know that , the Newton's first equation of motion is given by

 \boxed{ \sf{v = u + at}}

Thus ,

30 = 0 + 10t

t = 30/10

t = 3 sec

Therefore ,

  • The time taken by a object is 3 sec

We know that , the Newton's third equation of motion is given by

  \boxed{ \sf{{(v)}^{2}  -  {(u)}^{2}  = 2as}}

Thus ,

(30)² - (0)² = 2 × 10 × S

900 = 20 × S

S = 900/20

S = 45 m

Therefore ,

  • The displacement of particle is 45 m
