The odometer of a bus read 6700 km when it start from the station at 9am ,and when it comes back to the station at 10pm the odometer reading is found to be 6960km,then the average speed of the bus in the whole journey is how many km/hr?​

Initial reading of odometer = 6790 km

Final reading of odometer = 6960 km

Initial Time = 9:00 AM

Final Time = 10:00 PM = 22:00 PM

We know that Odometer measure the distance travelled by the car

So Total distance covered by car= Final reading of odometer - Initial reading of odometer

=6960km – 6700km = 260.0 km

Total time taken by Car = Final Time - Initial Time =22:00 PM - 9:00 AM = 13 hour

Now Speed of the car is defined as

= Total distance covered/Total time taken = 260/13 = 20km/hr
