Answer: Distance travelled = 3750 km - 3400 km

= 350 km.

Time taken = 7 hours

Average speed = Distance

time

=350

7

= 50 km/h.

Explanation:

how does an odometer work?

There are 2 types of odometres in a car.

The similarity between the two

both are used to measure distances.

Difference-:

One reads distance continuously & keeps on adding.

Another reads the distance traveled for a particular journey.

traveled for a particular journey.Case Study •

traveled for a particular journey.Case Study •Say Ravi has bought a new car which has not travelled a bit yet.

He planned to go to Kashmir in the same new car.

He will go by driving & will take breaks in some cities.

He started from New Delhi (where he lives) & went to Jammu which is 1000 km away from New Delhi.

WHAT IS THE DISTANCE HAS HE TRAVELLED?

ANS. YES, 1000 Km.

He continued his journey & finally reached Kashmir which is 500 km from Jammu.

Que. Now, what is the total distance covered by him?

{from New Delhi to Kashmir}?

Ans. 1000 km+500 km = 1500 km.

Exactly, in the same way, one odometer of a car reads the total distance covered.

& one odometer reads separate journeys like from Jammu to Kashmir only i.e. 500 km.
