If you feel lonely in friends’ group of your choice, it means that your expectations, emotional, psychological and material, are so high that you are out of sync with them and are all alone on a wide,wide sea. But if you are a person basically interested in building stable relationships with friends and are unable to do so, it is better that you confine yourself to a working relationship with the existing group of friends and at the same time identify amongst them those who you feel are worth a long term relationship. Also figure out if your sense of loneliness is due to the fact that you feel inferior in your group. The best way to deal with inferiority complex is to identify, understand and accept the things that you are feeling inferior about. Note that inferiority arises from a failure to accept realities and trying to pretend to be what you are not. Also understand that the friends who pretend or act superior to you are themselves victims of inferiority complex trying to overcome it with an assumed air of superiority. If your loneliness is due to boredom arising out lack of fulfilling personal relationships with friends, then try other methods like reading books of your choice,indulging in group activities like marathon runs, mountain trekking, visiting some tourist or beach, etc.

My own philosophical take about loneliness is that it is an essential reality of my existence which I keep facing at various times but helps me out by making me introspect,contemplate and meditate about life at leisure. Whenever I do it I go back to it with full vigour and enthusiasm. It also helps me to redeem myself by loving others and making life for them a little easier and in this process I lose myself so thoroughly that I start regretting not having enough time for people around me, be they friends or otherwise. Let me conclude by frankly admitting that I have been able to follow the above path on very few occasions but am always struggling with my human instincts above which I may have to rise if l really want to traverse that path steadily.
