the one side of a parallelogram is 25 CM more than its adjacent sides find the measure of its side if its perimeter is 170 cm

yashu3088: perimeter of ||gm = 2(a+b) now 170 =x+25 +x*2 then 170 =4x+50, 4x = 170-50 4x = 120 x =120/4 =30,x+25 = 30+25 =55,sides= 30,55,30,55

Let the adjacent side of the parallelogram be 'x' cm

Since, the one side of a parallelogram is 25 CM more than its adjacent sides.

So, the one side of the parallelogram = (25+x) cm

Since, in a parallelogram opposite sides are equal.

therefore, the other two sides are 'x' and (x+25)

Since, Perimeter of parallelogram = 170

x+x+25+x+x+25 = 170

4x + 50 = 170

4x = 170 - 50

4x = 120

x = 30 cm

Therefore, the adjacent side is 30 cm.

Therefore, the other side of the parallelogram = (x+25) cm = 30+25 cm

= 55 cm.

Therefore, the sides of the parallelogram are 30,55,30 and 55.
