Answer:

a.What three consecutive integers have a sum of 315? Which means that the first number is 104, the second number is 104 + 1 and the third number is 104 + Therefore, three consecutive integers that add up to 315 are 104, 105, and 106. We know our answer is correct because 104 + 105 + 106 equals 315 as displayed above

b. Step 1  Let no. be X

x/2+6=1+x

x+12/2=1+x

x+12=2+2x

X=10

(a)

It is easy if we set the middle number as N, then we write an equation for N

(Because the +1, -1 cancells out eventually.)

(N-1) + N + (N+1) = 315

3N = 315

Therefore N=105 and three numbers are 104, 105, 106.

(b)

Set the number as N

6 is added to N over 2, and the result is N + 1

Now, we write an equation.

6 + N/2 = N + 1

12 + N = 2N + 2

-N = -10 (Now we change the sign.)

Therefore N = 10 and the number is 10.
