Answer:

(a) 104,105,106

(b) 14

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)let the numbers (x-1),(x) and (x+1)

   now,

   given x-1 + x +x+1 =315

   3x = 315

   x = 105

   thus the integers are:

   (x-1) = (105 -1) = 104

   x = 105

   (x+1) = 105+1 = 106

Thus the numbers are 104,105 and 106

(b) let the number be x

     from question;

      (1/2)x +6 = x-1

   => x+12 = 2x - 2    [take LCM and then multiply both sides by 2]

   => 14 =x

   =>x = 14

Thus the number required = 14

Answer:

a). (X) + (X + 1) + (X + 2) = 315

X + X + 1 + X + 2 = 315

3X + 3 = 315

3X + 3 - 3 = 315 - 3

3X = 312

3X/3 = 312/3

X = 104

the first number is 104, the second number is 104 + 1 and the third number is 104 + 2. Therefore, three consecutive integers that add up to 315 are 104, 105, and 106.

104 + 105 + 106 = 315

b) Let the number be X

X/2+6=1+X

X+12/2=1+X

X+12=2+2X

X=10

I hope it helps you
