The ones digit of a number is 3 times the tens digit. If the digits are reversed, the new number is 18 more than the original number. Find the original number.

let the tens digit no. be x

so ones digit no. = 3 x

original number = 10*x +3 x *1 = 10 x + 3 x = 13 x

if the digits are reversed,

new no. = 10*3 x + 1*x = 30 x + x = 31 x

now, as per given condition,

31 x = 18+ 13 x

31 x - 13 x =18

18 x = 18

x = 1

original number = 13 x = 13*1 = 13
