Sub: Frequent power cuts and scarcity of water.

Respected Sir/ Madam,

I am Rohini, resident of Kalindi Vihar, New Delhi. I am writing the letter to you with utmost disappointment.

Recently, as this is winter month, elections had been attended with new committee promising many facilities. But now it seems that they were actually sleeping while saying this. Frequent power cuts, we cannot study at night! Also, we do not get proper water supply also! A human needs water, shelter and basic amenities, and here, these are not only provided.

Therefore, I request to publish my letter in esteemed columns so that the sleeping authorities can wake up and take action .

Regards,

Rohini .

Sub : Problems Faced By Local Natives in Summer

Respected Sir,

Sir myself Rohan, a local humanitarian of Shanti Nagar Colony in Kalindi Vihar.

Through the column of your esteemed newspaper, I wanted to raise and highlight the problems faced by poor people in summer. Let me express my views and experiences on this, sir. In my locality, just a little far from residents live is a slum of poor people. When summer comes, they have to search for handpumps and wells to get water. And they cannot afford permanent electricity. They anyhow manage to get a part time electricity. It really fills my eyes with tears when I see them and their small children crying and thriving for water.

We, who are habituated for 24/7 electricity and in summers we can't live without coolers or A.Cs. , can't think of people who lack with these facilities. They just live and want to live but still they are contented.

The point which I want to raise is the hardships faced by them and we are increasing their hardships instead of helping them. We already know the story 'Kuan' by Munshi Premchand, which highlighted the conditions of Dalits to get water from public well. Its still a superstition in our mind that these practices aren't followed nowadays. But its wrong. Still these practices influence the society.

Poor people don't get proper supply of water in summers. When they go for tanks in scarcity, the tanker owners ask them huge sums of money even more than 1000₹ for just 50 litres of water. They simply take advantage of their adverse condition. The same case is for electricity. They suffer for regular power because they don't have much money to pay bills. They get many problems like diarrhoea, cholera, dysentry, etc. due to consumption of contaminated water .

Even they have to face problems like summer flue, summer heat, etc. due to lack of electricity and not working of fans.

Sir this problem can be efficiently avoided by just simple method. The authorities have to just provide cheap and free water supplies and power in summers. They can help people to survive and live happily.

Also these problems arise due to caste discrimination. High caste people think themselves as more superior than low caste people. But everyone is equal in real. Because thirst and warmth doesn't sees caste, but need right ?

People must avoid these caste based discriminations and work together to make this world a better place. This India needs people with same heart but different bodies.

Sir I request you to publish this in your newspaper so people and authorities can take some action for the same.

Hoping for your positive response on this.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely

Rohan
