Operator Gene:- It lie on the structural genes and synthesis of mRNA over the structural genes are directly controlled by operator gene. It will be switched off in the presence of a repressor. In this the inducer may replace the repressor and cann switch on the gene that directs the structural genes to transcribe.

What are Promoter genes?

This gene is considered as the site for initial binding of RNA polymerase. When the operator gene is turned on, the enzyme RNA polymerase moves over it and then it reaches the structural genes to perform transcription.

What are Regulator genes?

It produces a repressor which binds to operator gene & also stops the working of the operator gene.
