Answers
Answer:
The oppression of the British over India brought the people together but after independence did the unity of our country broke away.
Explanation:
After the revolt of 1857, people in India started realizing the need for an independent change of liberation in the Indian society. In the years of struggle the people of India certainly realized with time that to achieve the notion of independence, they need to stand together and drive the Britishers out of the country. Mahatma Gandhi in his famous book 'Hind Swaraj' mentions that how the British rule sustained only because the people of this holy land let the Britishers rule on them by cooperating with their policies and if a drastic change could be done to not to cooperate with the government then the British Raj would collapse within a year.
At the time of independence two leaders emerged as the candidate for the office of Prime Minister one being Jawaharlal Nehru and the second being Md. Ali Jinnah. While Jawaharlal Nehru was someone who could collectively stand as a Prime Minister of every sect, on the contorary Md. Ali Jinnah promised to promote the Islamic ideology in the country while keeping the message of Muslim League of providing seat reservations on the basis of religion. Many of the Muslims who were supporting Muslim League made their way to a newly formed nation out of this division to Pakistan. The greatest problem being the division of country by such officials who didn't have much idea of the compositions of the territories that were supposed to be partitioned.
