The order of decreasing polarity in the compounds
CaO, CsF, KCI, MgO is
(1) CaO > CSF > KCl > MgO
(2) MgO > KCl > CaO > CsE
(3) KCl > CSF > MgO > CaO
(4) CSF > KCl > CaO > MgO

Answer:

CsF>KCl>CaO>MgO

Explanation:

The Polarity of the molecule is determined by using fajan's rule which states the covalent character of the molecule.

For the size of the cation smaller the size of the cation, and more the anion will be polarised hence, smaller the size of the cation then more will be the covalent nature  of the molecule.

For size of anion we have larger the size of the anion, cation can polarise feasibly hence, larger the size of the  anion more will be its covalent nature.

A compound which is more covalent, less will be the polarity of the bond.

So, in the case of CaO,CsF,KCl,MgO.

We know that the increasing order of cationic size : Mg2+<Ca2+<K+<Cs+

Also the decreasing size of anion : O2-> Cl-> F-

Hence, we get that the decreasing order of polarity is : CsF>KCl>CaO>MgO.
