Consider given the pointsA and B(−6,2),

Given that point A is on y-axis so, x=0 and ordinate of point A is =10,

Hence, coordinate of point A is=(0,10)

Now, distance between point A and B is,

  AB=sqrt((−6−0)^2+(2−10)^2))

 =sqrt (36+64)=sqrt(100)

 AB=10
