The ordinate of a point A on y-axis is 5 and B has co-ordinate (- 3, 1 ) .Find the length of A B .

( x1 would be zero because point A is on y-axis.)
By distance formula,
√(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2
=> √(-3-0)^2 + (1-5)^2
=> √(-3)^2 + (-4)^2
=>√9+16
=>√25 = 5
ANS = 5
