A)to grow and survive. Because the shoot system consists the leaves, flowers, twigs, stem and others that allow or make the plant to grow. And without the root system, the plant couldn't survive, because nothing will absorb water from the ground and distribute it to many parts of the plant.

Root and shoot should work together A. to grow and survive

  • The roots of plants are under the ground and shoots of plants are parts above the ground.
  • Roots perform the function of absorption of minerals and water from the soil. This process occurs due to the presence of unicellular root hairs.
  • Shoots perform photosynthesis which produces food for the plant. It also absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen by the process.
