Answer : The correct answer is option A

The Empirical formula of the Compound is CHO

Step-by-step Explanation :

Given : Carbon (C) = 41.38%

Hydrogen (H) = 3.45%

Oxygen (O) = 100 - ( 41.38 + 3.45 ) = 100 - 44.83 = 55.17%

To find : Empirical formula of Compund = ?

The Empirical formula is Calculated as,

Carbon = 41.38 / 12

= 3.448 = 3.45

Hydrogen = 3.45 / 1

= 3.45

Oxygen = 55.17 / 16

= 3.448 = 3.45

Therefore the organic compound contains 1 molecule of Carbon , 1 molecule of Hydrogen and 1 molecule of Oxygen.

So the Empirical formula is CHO
