Answer:

The numbers of winners is 19

Step-by-step explanation:

Let their are x winners and y losers. Then

According to question

x + y = 63     ----------- 1

Total price money = 3000 Rs

Price money for 1 winner = 100 Rs

Price money for x winners = 100x Rs

Price money for 1 loser = 25 Rs

Price money for y losers = 25y Rs

But total money = 3000 Rs

So, 100x + 25y = 3000       ------------------ 2

Multiply in equation 1 by 25

25(x + y = 63)

25x + 25y = 1575           ------------------ 3

100x + 25y = 3000        ------------------ 2

          Subtracting

25x - 100x = 1575 - 3000

-75x = -1425

75x = 1425

x = \dfrac{1425}{75}

x = 19

Hence, the numbers of winners is 19.
