Answer:

Let the no. of winners be 'x'

Let the no. of participants who did not win be 'y'

The, acc. to ques.

'x' +'y'=63   →equation(1)

And 100(x)+25(y)=3000    →equation(2)

Multiplying eq1 by 100,we get

100x+100y=6300     →equation(3)

Now subtracting eq 2 from eq 3,we get

75y=3300

y=44

∴x+44=63

x=19

Hi

Hope it will help you!!

Winner get a prize = Rs 100

Non - winner get a prize = Rs 25

Total prize = Rs 3000

Total no.of participants =  63

Let the no.of winner be a

Let the no.of non-winners be (63 - a)

amount given to the winners = Rs (100 * a)

                                                 = Rs 100a

amount given to the non - winners = Rs 25(63 - a)

                                                          = Rs 1575 - 25a

A.T.Q( according to this question)

100a + 1575 - 25a = 3000

75a +1575 = 3000

75a = 3000 - 1575

75a = 1425

a = 1425/75

a = 19

No . of winners = 19
