Solution :

We know that if any point (x, y) is changed to (x', y') and the origin (0, 0) is shifted to (h, k), the relation is

x = x' + h and y = y' + k

Given
(x, y) Ξ (3, 4) and (x', y') Ξ (6, 8)

So,
3 = 6 + h and 4 = 8 + k

i.e., h = -3, k = -4

So, the co-ordinates of A are (-3, -4). [Ans.]
