When the paper is made or brand new, the cellulose chains are intact without any breakage or cutting, overtime the paper turns yellow or ochre in color due external and internal elements, like moisture and acid in the atmosphere due to heavy population and internal factors like manufacturing process, dying and other steps taken in making paper, the paper manufacturing process since 1947 has changed thereby prolonging the effects of wear and tear. To keep the pages of old documents or books, such material needs to sealed and kept under humid free condition in dark or artificial light room to prolong the life of the paper.
