outer dimension = 42 × 30 × 20
outer volume = 25200 cm^3

thickness = 1 cm
inner dimension = 40 × 28 × 18
inner volume = 40×28×18 cm^3

volume of wood = outer volume - inner volume

Given that the wooden plank is 1.5 cm thick

Find the inner dimensions:

Length = 43 - 1.5 - 1.5 = 40 cm

Breadth = 35 - 1.5 - 1.5 = 32 cm

Height = 20 - 1.5 - 1.5 = 17 cm

Find the capacity of the box:

Volume = Length x Breadth x Height

Inner volume = 40 x 32 x 17 = 21760 cm³

Find the volume of the wood:

Volume = Length x Breadth x Height

Outer volume = 43 x 35 x 20 =30100 cm³

Inner volume = 21760 cm³

Volume of the wood = 30.100 - 21,760 = 8340 cm³

Convert 1 dm³ to cm³:

1 dm = 10 cm

(1 dm)³ = (10 cm)³

1 dm³ = 1000 cm³

Find the cost :

1 dm³ = Rs 15

1000 cm³ = Rs 15

8340 cm³ = 8340/1000 x 15

8340 cm³ = Rs 125.10

Answer: (1) 21760 cm³ (2) 8340 cm³ (3) Rs 125.10
