Solution:

Given:The outer dimension of the closed wooden box are 16 cm 12 cm by 8 cm thickness of the wood is 1 cm.
∴l=16cm,
∴b=12cm,
∴h=8cm,

Thickness of the box=1cm

Volume of wood used to make this box= Total Surface Area x Thickness
                                                                    =2(lb+bh+lh) x 1
                                                                    =2([16][12]+[12][8]+[16][8])
                                                                    =2(192+96+144)
                                                                    =2(432)
                                                                    =864cu.cm
Cost of making the wooden box  = Volume of wood used to make this box x cost per cu.cm
                                                          =864 x 2.5
∴Cost of making the wooden box=Rs.2160
               Hope it Helps
