Step-by-step explanation:

  • volume of wood required =volume of external cuboid - volume of internal cuboid
  • volume of wood required = (lbh) external -( lbh) internal
  • for external cuboid
  • length(l) = 10cm
  • breadth (b)= 8cm
  • height (h)= 7cm
  • thickness (t)= 1cm
  • for internal cuboid
  • length = l-2t = 10 - 2= 8cm
  • breadth = b -2t = 8- 2= 6cm
  • height = h -2t = 7-2=5cm
  • volume required = (10×8×7) - (8×6×5)
  • volume required = 560 - 240=320 cubic centimeter
  • cost = 320 ×2
  • cost =rs. 640
