Here's your Answer...
Given,
Length = 40cm..
Breadth = 36 cm.
For the new Rectangle,
Length = (40 - 3.5 - 3.5)cm. = 33cm
Breadth = (36 - 3.5 - 3.5) cm = 29cm
So,
Perimeter of new Rectangle = 2 ( l + b)
=> 2( 33 + 29)
=> 2 × 62
=> 124cm.

l= 40 b =36
and wide = 3.5 cm
so new l = 40-3.5-3.5 = 33cm
b = 36-3.5-3.5= 29 cm
so perimeter = 2(33+29)
= 2×62
=124 cm
and wide = 3.5 cm
so new l = 40-3.5-3.5 = 33cm
b = 36-3.5-3.5= 29 cm
so perimeter = 2(33+29)
= 2×62
=124 cm
