BOX WITHOUT LID :-

Outer length = 112 cm.

Outer breadth = 80 cm.

Outer height = 75 cm.

So, Actual volume of the box = 672000 cm³

EMPTY/HOLLOW PORTION OF THE BOX (INNER BOX STRUCTURE) :-

Inner length = (112-10) cm = 102 cm

Inner breadth = (80-10) cm = 70 cm

Inner height = (75-5) cm = 60 cm

Volume of the inner box structure which is actually empty portion = (102×70×60) cm³ = 499800 cm³

Volume of metal required

= (672000-499800) cm³

= 172,200 cm³

= 172.2 dcm³
