The outer measure of the rectangular compound wall of a house are 20m long, 15m broad, 5m high and 12cm thick. Find the cost of building the walls by using bricks of size 15cm × 10cm × 5cm where the rate of the cost of bricks is Rs.2000 per 1000 bricks. 5 days is required for 4 labour to finish the work and the labour charge is Rs.950 per day per labour.

Answer:

The total cost to build the wall=Rs. 1185680

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that , the rectangular compound wall of a house measure 20 m long , 15 m broad , 5 m height, and 12 cm = 0.12 m thick

The volume of the wall is =2(length × height+ broad×height ) ×thickness

                                         = 2(20×5+15×5)× 0.12 m³

                                          = 42 m³

                                          cm³

The dimension of a brick is 15 cm×10 cm× 5 cm

Therefore the volume of a brick is =(15×10×5) cm³

                                                          =750 cm³

Therefore the number of brick required to make the wall is

                                                                                                  ≈58,334

The cost of 58,334 bricks is

                                              = Rs. 1166680

Total labour charges is = Rs(5×4×950)

                                     = Rs.19000

The total cost to build the wall = Rs.(1166680+19000) =Rs. 1185680
