out side dimensions =1m*80cm*0.50cm

0.01cm*80cm*0.50cm

=0.4cm

inside dimensions =0.9m*0.70m*40cm

=0.9m*0.70m*0.4m

=0.252m

volume of wood used in the box=inside-out side

0.252m-0.4cm

0.252m-0.004m

=0.248m
