We all know about the law of Conservation of Energy.

  • We know that energy cannot be created nor destroyed - therefore it will still be 200J when it hits the ground
  • When GPE Increases = KE Decreases
  • When GPE Decreases = KE Increases

Assuming a vacuum and no drag, the KE upon hitting the ground is exactly the same as the PE from the height at which it was dropped. This is because the process of falling converts the PE into KE.So, KE = 200J

Hope this will help you
